🔺🔺 Rules of Participles in English Grammar

Two types of Participles:

A) Present

B) Past

Present Participles form in English grammar - VERB + ING

1. Adjective - Running Water, Growing Crops

2. Continuous Tenses - 

He is WORKING/ you have been DREAMING/ he was WALKING.

3. Basic verbs of the senses - 

SEE, HEAR, FEEL, SMELL, LISTEN (TO), NOTICE, WATCH, FIND

I see him PASING my house every day.

She smells something BURNING.

I found her LYING at the foot of the stairs.

4. Spend/ Waste + Expression of Time or Money + PRESENT PARTICIPLE.

He spends two hours TRAVELLING a day.

We wasted a whole afternoon TRYING to repair the car.

5. * Two actions

6. * As/ Since/ Because/ Being

7. * Replace a relative clause.
